Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was seen campaigning on the streets of Mumbai on Friday for the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections.
Reacting to statements made by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, Shinde questioned the intent behind their criticism and reminded them of Fadnavis' earlier stint as Chief Minister.
Congress leader Imran Masood on Saturday disagreed with AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi's "hijab-clad woman as PM" remarks and said that the latter's statement is like "seeing stars during the day."
"Asaduddin Owaisi, there is no vacancy for the Prime Minister's slot. Narendra Modi's popularity is known to one and all. First, let your members of parliament be elected, then dream about a Prime Minister," Shaina NC told ANI.
Expressing confidence over the outcome in Mumbai, Shinde said the electorate would vote in favour of the Mahayuti alliance based on development works. "Let me say this in one word: the Mayor of Mumbai will be from the Mahayuti alliance only," he asserted.

According to Mumbai police, Qureshi was stabbed in Sant Dnyaneshwar Nagar of Bandra on Wednesday evening and suffered "some cut injuries" on his stomach.
"While I was holding a public meeting for election campaigning in a society near Shreeram Chowk, some people pelted stones at my car and also targeted our candidate, Sarika Pawar. The police have gone to the spot. The police are checking the CCTV footage there," Bhangire told ANI.
