After Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee's announcement that her party would fight alone in Bengal, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Wednesday said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was "fighting like a tigress", and her fight was important for her state.
Reacting to the arrest of Suraj Chavan, a close aide of Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray, Congress leader in charge of Maharashtra unit Ramesh Chennithala said on Thursday that central investigation agencies are targeting opposition leaders.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday slammed the BJP-led Central government for the Enforcement Directorate's raid at locations linked to a Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) leader. He said it showed a "dictatorial attitude" and was "being done purposely to scare" the Opposition.
"Democracy has been destroyed in Maharashtra. We call the Election Commission a total compromise commission, they are not conducting Lok Sabha elections on Pune and Chandrapur seats...people have no voice even in the Municipal Corporation. So far the Speaker has taken one and a half years
