Amid the debate surrounding the chief minister for Himachal Pradesh, the Congress on Friday held a meeting with the party's observer Bhupesh Baghel, state in-charge Rajeev Shukla, probable CM Pratibha Singh, and all the elected MLAs, at its Shimla headquarters.
After registering a win in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, the State MLAs will meet on Friday in Shimla to decide on the chief minister's post.
Congress candidate Harish Janartha on Thursday won from Shimla constituency in Himachal Pradesh with a margin of 3037 votes. While Congress is leading on 39 seats out of 68 and BJP is leading on 18.
The action was taken by state Congress chief Pratibha Singh on the basis of a resolution received from the Block Congress Committee Chopal, District Shimla.
The Himachal Pradesh police on Sunday arrested two persons under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for allegedly carrying around 40 grams of Heroin.
