The Congress on Wednesday released its fifth list of candidates for the Karnataka Assembky polls, fielding Yasir Ahmed Khan Pathan against incumbent Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai from the Shiggaon Assembly constituency.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by BJP national president JP Nadda, Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep and other BJP leaders who held a road show in Shiggaon. Karnataka CM earlier filed his nomination from the Assembly constituency.

During his visit Nadda will be visiting Hubli and Shiggaon (Haveri) and participate in several public programmes and organisational meetings including visiting some key mutts of Hubli district, an official statement from the party said.

While addressing the party workers of the Shiggaon-Savanur Assembly constituency, CM Bommai said, "Our surveys so far have indicated the win for the ruling BJP and the party will be ahead in more than 130 seats".
After the end of the BJP Chief Election Committee (CEC) meeting on Sunday, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai said that the party will announce the list of candidates for the assembly polls in a day or two.
