The Supreme Court on Thursday questioned the Ajit Pawar faction, which has been officially recognised as the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) by the Election Commission of India, as to why it is using veteran leader Sharad Pawar's photos for campaigning.
Congress leaders on Tuesday gave an invitation to NCP (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar to join Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and the public meeting to be held at Shivaji Park on March 17.
"I don't react on speculations... We are not in the business of being in contact with other leaders but I know several leaders are not comfortable on the other side (Ajit Pawar faction)," NCP (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar said.
NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Monday alleged that the BJP-led government is misusing agencies like Enforcement Directorate to create fear among the opposition and called ED the "supporting party" of BJP.
Sharad Pawar, the Nationalist Congress Party (SP) leader, declared his daughter and MP Supriya Sule as their candidate for Maharashtra's Baramati Lok Sabha seat on Saturday.
"There are 5 seats that are being demanded by the NCP (Sharad Pawar), Congress and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray). So in total, there are 15 seats out of 48 in which they do not have coordination," Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) president Prakash Ambedkar said.
Launching a scathing attack on the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, NCP SCP Chief Sharad Pawar termed the Bharatiya Janata Party a "Washing machine" and said it is inducting the leaders with corruption charges from opposite parties and getting them "cleaned".
Addressing a press conference here today, Fadnavis said whenever it comes to ticket distribution for Lok Sabha, it will be based on the ground reality only.
"There is no split in the party. The NCP belongs to Sharad Pawar as per the party constitution. The case is with the Supreme court and we are fighting for it...The Pawar family is huge. One person taking a different stand does not mean a split in the family...," Sule said speaking to reporte
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday appealed to the people of the country to check the "biodata" of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) before electing a Prime Minister in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, and asserted that their choice will be none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi.<
"We have a hectic schedule tomorrow. We have to go to Ahmedabad, next time we will come for sure, we have conveyed our message to Sharad Pawar," the Chief Minister said speaking at a press conference in Mumbai on Friday.
