The government of India has pushed the boundary to make inland waterways a sustainable, cost-effective, hassle-free means of transportation under 'PM Gati Shakti Multimodal Waterways Summit 2022 in the spiritual city of Varanasi.
The event, being organised by the Indian Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) under the aegis of the Union ministry of ports, shipping and waterways, aims to generate greater public awareness about the 'PM Gati Shakti National Masterplanw' with focus on infrastructure development in the water
Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal will inaugurate a two-day PM Gati Shakti Multimodal Waterways Summit scheduled to be held in Varanasi, said officials on Wednesday.
The Haryana Chief Secretary said that Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, while presenting the state Budget for 2022-23, had announced the strengthening of roads in all the industrial estates in the state and the five projects cleared at the meeting were in line with that goal.
