A case has been lodged against Shahbaz Gill at the Kohsar police station in Islamabad. He has been accused of causing a divide in the state institution. Additional sessions judge Tahir Abbas Sepra took up sedition case against Gill.
The charges, in this case, are related to a speech by Khan in which he allegedly threatened police and a female judge last year after one of his close aides, Shahbaz Gill, was denied bail in a sedition case, reported Geo News.
According to PEMRA ban, the former prime minister and PTI leader, will no longer be able to deliver "live and recorded" speeches or press conference on any satellite TV stations.
Gill was arrested by the police on August 9, 2022, after he made controversial remarks against the Pakistan army on television that was deemed as "highly hateful and seditious" by the country's media authority.
According to Geo News, Khan's comments come in the wake of sedition cases filed against his party's Senior Vice-President Fawad Chaudhry and former member of National Assembly Shandana Gulzar, while Senator Azam Swati and Shahbaz Gill were booked earlier for speaking against the military.
A police officer, who wanted to remain anonymous, said that an FIR has been filed against Shahbaz Gill under sections 500, 505, 131 and 153-A of the Pakistan Penal Code and PECA's relevant sections, Dawn reported.
