In the aftermath of the Badlapur sexual assault case, the Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) has recommended the establishment of special branches or "mini-police stations" for women and children in every police station across the state.
"How strong is the reaction of the people when a serious incident happens? An example of this was seen yesterday in Badlapur. This means that there is a lot of uneasiness among the people," Sharad Pawar outlined.
The NHRC has also issued notices to the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police, Government of Tamil Nadu calling for a detailed report within two weeks.
