One labourer was killed and two others were injured in North Delhi's Subhash Place after a mound of soil collapsed on them while they were laying a deep sewer line, said police.

The ongoing project—approved in September 2020—has so far laid 1,451 kilometer (km) of water supply pipes, 1,110 km of sewer pipes, and connected 68,098 households to water services in selected towns in Rajasthan.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday conducted a local inspection of the sewer project in Vrindavan and instructed officials to complete the quality work at the earliest.

The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has put the implementation of AMRUT 1.O, a project launched to provide water supply and sewerage facilities to every household in the state, on fast track, stated an official release on Friday.
The project, which will cost Rs 1.7 crore, aims to divert the sewerage coming out of the area's colonies for treatment at the nearest Sewage Pumping Station (SPS), according to a government release.
