In two separate joint operations, Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police recovered contraband drugs worth more than Rs 47 crore in Mizoram's Champhai district in the last 48 hours.
In a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, the Special Task Force (STF), in collaboration with Sonepur Police, in a raid at a poultry farm in Kamira Talabandha village in Odisha's Subarnapur district, arrested one person and recovered 151 kg of Ganja from his possession.
"The vehicle was illegally transporting the cattle. The police team apprehended two persons, Iman Ali (36) and Sofiqul Haque (30), both hailing from Nagaon district. The vehicle has been seized along with 30 cattle heads and other items in the presence of the witnesses," the official said.
The Cyberabad Special Operation Team (SOT) arrested a man on Thursday who was transporting 50 lakhs of Hawala money from Secunderabad to Gulbarga under Raidurgam police station limits, a police official said.
