The Delhi High Court on Wednesday granted statutory bail to Sharjeel Imam in a sedition case for allegedly making inflammatory speeches in Jamia area and Aligarh Muslim University in 2019.
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday adjourned sine die the appeal of Sharjeel Imam challenging the framing of charges in connection with a 2020 communal riots case involving allegations of sedition.
Officials said that the arrested accused was wanted in connection with an unlawful activities and sedition case and was declared a proclaimed offender.
A Delhi court on Saturday dismissed Sharjeel Imam's bail plea in a sedition case.
He is also accused in the larger conspiracy of the Delhi riots in 2020.
The Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM), a political party working for the freedom of Sindhu Desh, have condemned the "false" sedition case against the party's leaders in Sindh, noting that the Pakistan terrorist state has registered a sedition case against them.

Delhi's Karkardooma Court on Monday reserved an order on the plea of Sharjeel Imam seeking statutory bail on the grounds the period already undergone in a Sedition case. He has been in custody since January 28, 2020.
