The Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya Frontier seized smuggled goods, including narcotics Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) worth Rs 49.20 crore in 2023.
Border Security Force (BSF) successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle foreign currency worth of Rs 1.39 crore at the International Border in West Bengal on Thursday.
According to officials, the encounter in the Hadigam area of Kulgam district is currently underway. Police, Army, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officials are on the spot.
"On January 3, 2024, during the afternoon hours, on specific information from the BSF regarding the presence of a consignment, alert BSF troops launched a search operation on the outskirts of the village of Naushera Dhalla, District Tarn Taran," the BSF said in a statement.
The military's media wing added that the killed terrorists remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces and were planning to conduct a high-profile terrorist attack, which was averted due to a proactive response by security forces.
