Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who is on his three-city visit to the United States has once again sparked a row after he said that Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) in Kerala is completely a "secular party" inviting criticism from the BJP.
Congress leader Pawan Khera on Friday defended Rahul Gandhi for his "completely secular" remarks for the Indian Muslim League party stating that the current Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government lack knowledge of Indian politics.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, during an interaction with journalists at the National Press Club in Washington DC on Thursday, claimed that the 'Muslim League is a "completely secular party".
Responding to a question on the Congress's alliance with Muslim League in Kerala, Rahul said, "Muslim League is a completely secular party, there is nothing non-secular about them. I think the person (reporter) hasn't studied the Muslim League."
Slamming the Congress party, former Chief Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday alleged that some people are making "inappropriate statements" against the party.
"In our country, secularism is under huge attack. RSS is not in compliance with India being a secular nation so they wish to change India into a religious country," Pinarayi Vijayan said.
