A ban on all gatherings has been enforced in Punjab, Balochistan and Islamabad as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) prepared up for a rally in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Swabi district on Saturday to mark the first anniversary of February 8 general elections.
The Sindh government has enforced Section 144 in Karachi's coastal areas, prohibiting swimming in the sea during Eid ul Adha holidays, ARY News reported.
Following a report submitted by the District Intelligence Committee, mentioning the possible chances of threat to law and order, Section 144 has been imposed for seven days in Rawalpindi district, reported Dawn.
According to a notification being shared on social media, the Punjab caretaker government has imposed a ban on all kinds of assemblies, gatherings and rallies citing "serious security threats" and fears of "disruption of traffic".
