Advocate Sangram Kolhatkar, counsel for the complainant Satyaki Savarkar, demanded a judicial inquiry into the missing CDs that allegedly contained Rahul Gandhi's defamatory speech about the freedom fighter.
Advocate Sangram Kolhatkar, representing Satyaki Savarkar -- the grandnephew of "Veer" Savarkar -- filed the application against the Congress leader on Wednesday, alleging that he misled the court by repeatedly denying receipt of evidence linked to his controversial speeches in London.
This comes after Rahul Gandhi raised "strong exception" to the contents of the application filed by his lawyer, Pawar, who told a Pune court that there was a "threat" to the Congress leader's life from the followers of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.
Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi on Friday pleaded not guilty before a Pune court in connection with a defamation case filed against him over his remarks on Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.
The complaint was filed against Rahul Gandhi by the grandnephew of VD Savarkar after Rahul Gandhi made an alleged objectionable statement against Savarkar in London in March 2023.
