Advocate Sangram Kolhatkar, counsel for the complainant Satyaki Savarkar, demanded a judicial inquiry into the missing CDs that allegedly contained Rahul Gandhi's defamatory speech about the freedom fighter.
Advocate Sangram Kolhatkar, representing Satyaki Savarkar -- the grandnephew of "Veer" Savarkar -- filed the application against the Congress leader on Wednesday, alleging that he misled the court by repeatedly denying receipt of evidence linked to his controversial speeches in London.
The complaint was filed against Rahul Gandhi by the grandnephew of VD Savarkar after Rahul Gandhi made an alleged objectionable statement against Savarkar in London in March 2023.
According to Sangram Kolhatkar, an advocate representing Satyaki Savarkar, the complaint alleges that the Congress leader made objectionable remarks about the Hindutva ideologue during a visit to the UK last year.
Responding to Congress leader Priyank Kharge's statement in the Belagavi assembly, Satyaki Savarkar, grandnephew of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, said that Karnataka Minister Kharge is "spreading lies".
Satyaki Savarkar, the grandson of one of the siblings of poet and freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, filed a criminal defamation complaint against Rahul over his remarks against the saffron ideologue.
