The Centre on Wednesday urged the Supreme Court to extend the tenure of Enforcement Directorate Director Sanjay Kumar Mishra till October 15, in view of the ongoing Financial Action Task Force (FATF) review.
The Centre on Tuesday apprised the Supreme Court that it is moving an application seeking an extension of the tenure of Enforcement Directorate Sanjay Kumar Mishra.
As the opposition parties held the Supreme Court’s decision on the extension of the tenure of ED Director Sanjay Kumar Mishra a major ‘setback’ for the Central government, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called them “delusional”.
"This is a big setback for the government. The head of a powerful agency like the ED has been declared illegal. The motive to give an extension has been questioned by the SC verdict," Bhardwaj said.
