The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting raids at nearly half-a-dozen locations in West Bengal in its fresh ongoing investigation against absconding Trinamool Congress leader Sheikh Shahjahan in connection with the alleged land grabbing case.
Earlier on Thursday, Sukanta Majumdar was arrested by the West Bengal Police on Thursday while leading a protest against the Sandeshkhali incidents and released on a PR bond later.
The West Bengal police on Thursday opened up on the arrest of BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar saying he was arrested during his protest earlier in Sandeshkhali for violation of prohibitory orders under Section 144, which had been in force in the violence-hit area.
Launching a blistering attack on the TMC government, BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar said on Thursday his party will keep mobilising cadres and holding protests against the alleged events in Sandeshkhali till they were allowed to visit the island in the North 24 Parganas district.
