Rana Sanaullah's statement comes amid reports that the newly-formed Istihkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) is intending to form an electoral alliance with the ruling PML-N to contest in the upcoming general elections set to be held in October this year.
When asked if Imran would be tried in the military court, Sanaullah said, "Absolutely, why shouldn't he? The programme that he made to target the military installations and then had it executed, in my understanding absolutely is a case of a military court."

Imran's remarks came hours after Sanaullah, in a post-midnight press conference in Faisalabad, alleged that intelligence agencies had intercepted a telephone call in which a plan to "stage a raid and rape" at a known PTI worker's home was being discussed.
Sanaullah while addressing a press conference, claimed that the intercepted conversation revealed a plan to "stage a raid and rape at a known PTI leader's home".
Despite Section 144 still being in effect in the capital city, demonstrators from various political parties, including JUI-F employees and sympathisers, converged on Islamabad. Many of them entered the Red Zone, according to Geo News.
Rana Sanaullah called former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan evil and warned that he would bring disaster to the country if he is not stopped by the nation through the power of the vote.
"We always supported talks and even convinced our allies for it. But [now], how can we hold talks with terrorists? We can only hold talks with those who condemn terrorism and dissociate themselves from these political terrorists," Bilawal said.
"Indian defence forces are on a vigil and are keeping a close watch on the situation in Pakistan, in view of the developments there. Strong vigil being maintained by the forces along the Line of Control and the international border," defence sources told ANI here.
