A same-sex couple has moved to Supreme Court challenging the Kerala High Court order directing one of them to attend counselling sessions with a psychiatrist. The Supreme Court agreed to hear the plea on Monday.
The Supreme Court on Friday transferred to itself various petitions seeking legal recognition for same-sex marriage from various High Courts including Delhi, Kerala and Gujarat.

In India, same-sex marriage is neither recognised nor accepted in any personal law like Muslim Personal Law or any codified statutory laws," Sushil Modi said in Rajya Sabha.
