The District Magistrate (DM) of Sambhal, Dr Rajender Pensiya, on Monday refuted claims made by the Jama Masjid Committee chief, Zafar Ali, regarding the recent violence in the region and the survey conducted at the mosque.

"A survey was being carried out there (Sambhal) on the orders of the court. Whatever incident happened is very sad. A fair investigation will be conducted into the incident," Deputy CM Pathak told ANI.
