The IDF reported that it carried out two different arrest operations and activities overnight in which forces from the IDF, Shin Bet and the Border Police fighters operated to arrest 24 wanted terrorists throughout Judea and Samaria and in the Jordan Valley area.
According to the military, IDF troops were dispatched to the area due to the gathering there of a number of masked individuals, who according to Israeli media reports were stoning Palestinian vehicles on Highway 60
Twelve terrorists were killed during a two-day Israeli incursion in the Jenin refugee camp in early July. Israeli security forces seized a large quantity of military equipment and weaponry in the Jenin camp and surrounding areas, including bombs, ammunition and guns.
Forces from the Israel Defence Force (IDF), the Shin Bet and the Border Police operated overnight to arrest nine wanted terrorists throughout Judea and Samaria.
The IDF Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi Sunday evening released a statement strongly condemning the "inciting" speech against the commander of the IDF's Binyamin Brigade in Samaria, Colonel Eliav Elbaz, and against other commanders in the IDF.
A senior official within the Palestinian Authority expressed grave concerns over the growing influence of Hamas in Judea and Samaria, particularly in Jenin.
"There are days when we must state what is self-evident," he said. "The State of Israel is a nation of laws. All citizens of Israel are obligated to obey the law. We will not allow disturbances either on the Golan Heights or in Judea and Samaria."
