Left parties have strongly opposed the 'One Nation, One Election' move of the government, for which two bills have been introduced in Lok Sabha, and said it is a direct assault on the federal structure and the rights of state legislatures.

On the Supreme Court's verdict on nameplates in Kanwar Yatra routes, Congress leader Salman Khurshid said on Monday that the order by the Uttar Pradesh government was "illegal and unconstitutional." The Congress leader also emphasized that such measures are not supported by the Constitution.
A delegation of Congress leaders met the Election Commission of India (ECI) and complained about the delay in the updation on the ECI websites on Tuesday.
Khurshid interpreted this adjustment as an acknowledgement of the competition posed by Congress, stating, "They are focusing on what will happen if Congress comes to power. This implies that Congress is giving tough competition, which they are accepting."
