Gaikwad talked about his recent exploits in the Vijay Hazare Trophy where he smashed 43 runs in an over and about his team Maharashtra faltering to cross the final hurdle, losing out on the title by a small margin.
He sent his registration letter to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, senior party leader Sachin Pilot and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, besides PCC chief GS Dotasra stating that he tried to serve the party through various activities but in vain.

The incident took place days after KC Venugopal held a meeting with the two leaders of the state and held hands with Gehlot and Pilot during a press conference in an attempt to show unity in Jaipur on November 29. Venugopal had claimed that the party is united in the state.
As the rivals stood next to each other holding hands to present the optics days after Ashok Gehlot called Sachin Pilot a traitor, the party sought to send out a message of resolving the ongoing crisis.
Addressing the 68th national event of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Jaipur on Monday, the Union Education and Skill Development Minister said, "There is no government in Rajasthan as the leaders are busy fighting among themselves."
