The US on Tuesday (local time) said that India should decrease its dependence on Russia and reiterated that the US is committed to working with India on its transition away from Russia.
The US State Department on Tuesday (local time) said that the messages passed on to Moscow during External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar's recent visit to Russia are not dissimilar to what Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said earlier that "this is not an era of war."

Jaishankar reached Moscow on Monday as a part of his two-day visit to Russia, in continuation of the regular high-level dialogue between the two sides. During his meeting with Lavrov today, he reviewed the entire gamut of the India-Russia relationship.
The talks between Manturov and Jaishankar were held in the format of a meeting of the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Russian-Indian Commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation.
