After Prime Minister Narendra Modi was bestowed with Russia's highest civilian honour during his Moscow trip, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and MP Sanjay Raut took a dig saying that Russian President Vladimir Putin can award anybody he wants as there is no opposition in Russia.
In a joint statement released on Wednesday, the leaders emphasised that any resolution must be consistent with international law and the principles outlined in the United Nations Charter.
Russian First Deputy Prime Minister, Denis Manturov, emphasised the strategic importance of this partnership, noting that the momentum continued into 2024 with an additional 23 per cent growth, nearing USD 18 billion by April.
"Today, we have been talking about an even stronger commitment and about the possibilities of reviving the peace process. PM Modi and myself discussed the unique position of India in the so-called Global South," the Austrian Chancellor said.
PM Modi arrived in Vienna on Tuesday evening for a day-long State visit under the second leg of his two-nation tour. He was in Russia on a two-day visit where he met President Vladimir Putin.
"Order of St Andrew the Apostle is not given to everybody. There are very select heads of state who get it. I think the act by the Russian President to bestow this honour on PM Narendra Modi is very significant," Katoch told ANI.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed heartfelt gratitude, emphasising that these students, through their dedication and actions, exemplified shared values of humanity and the sanctity of life.
After Prime Minister Narendra Modi was bestowed with Russia's highest civilian award, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s Foreign Affairs Department in-charge, Dr Vijay Chauthaiwale, said that the PM has been recognised as "a global leader who matters for global peace and prosperity."
The Russian Embassy on Wednesday clarified its stance on the recruitment of Indian nationals for the Russian Army and said that Moscow is on the same page as New Delhi on this issue.
PM Modi was ceremoniously presented with Russia's highest civilian award, the Order of St Andrew the Apostle at St Catherine's Hall of Moscow Kremlin on Tuesday.
