Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami thanked the people of Rantoli village for their contribution to the relief and rescue operations undertaken by the administration after the Rudraprayag road accident.
At least 14 people were killed as a tempo traveller carrying 26 passengers fell into a deep gorge in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district on Saturday after which the Uttarakhand government directed an investigation into the accident.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow over the Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand accident and extended his condolences to the bereaved families.
"An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000," the Prime Minister Office stated on X.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended his condolences and wished a swift recovery to those injured after a tempo traveller plunged into a deep gorge in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag, injuring 13 people.
A total of seven people who sustained injuries in the Rudraprayag tempo traveller accident were airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh on Saturday on the orders of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed condolences over the loss of lives in the accident and said that local administration and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams are engaged in rescue operation.
