Marking 100 years of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday emphasised the importance of individual character building and the central role of the Shakha system in nurturing discipline and value-driven citizens.
In his Vijayadashami speech, Bhagwat warned that similar forces are active in India, both within and outside the country, and emphasised the need for democratic means to bring about transformation.
"People fear what would happen to them if someone else grows bigger. Where will they be if India grows? So, they imposed a tariff," Bhagwat said, without naming any country.

In an interview with ANI, an Islamic Scholar said his organisation had already passed a resolution in favour of engagement, stressing that while there were "differences", efforts must be made to reduce them.
