A delivery agent and his associate were allegedly robbed of Rs 2 lakh at gunpoint by four unidentified men inside the Pragati Maidan tunnel on Saturday when the victims were going towards Gurugram in a cab to deliver the money.
The Tirupathi district police, on Saturday, arrested 9 smugglers and seized red sandalwood worth Rs 2 crores.
Additionally, the police recovered 33 logs, 5 cars and a two-wheeler from their possession.
While issuing the threat, the accused allegedly demanded Rs 2 lakh and claimed that he will leave for Malaysia with his men once he will get the money, the police said.

The Supreme Court once again declined an urgent hearing of a plea challenging RBI's decision permitting citizens to exchange Rs 2000 banknotes, which are being pulled out of circulation, without any requisition slip and ID proof.
On May 19, RBI decided to withdraw the Rs 2,000 denomination currency notes from circulation, but said it will continue to remain as legal tender. However, RBI has advised banks to stop issuing Rs 2,000 denomination banknotes with immediate effect.
