Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakhs each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand each to the injured following the tragic stampede in Hathras.
The staff of Cyber Cell, South West District Police Station, arrested a fraudster, Amrul Ansari, 24, from Jamtara, Jharkhand, for cheating victims through phishing links.
"An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000," the Prime Minister Office stated on X.
At least 45 Indians were killed in the fire incident, and 31 bodies of victims from Kerala (23), Tamil Nadu (7), and Karnataka (1) were brought via a special aircraft of the Indian Air Force to Kerala's Kochi on Friday.
