Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on the occasion of Republic Day, honoured the driver and conductor of the Haryana Roadways bus who came to the rescue of cricketer Rishabh Pant during a road accident near Roorkee.
Work for temporary rehabilitation, pre-fabricated houses, for the affected families migrating from Uttarakhand's Joshimath due to land subsidence, has started by Central Building Research Institution (CBRI), Roorkee, the government said on Monday.
Pant had undergone knee surgery last week after being involved in an accident while he was driving from Delhi to meet his family in Roorkee, resulting in damage to his right ligaments.
A team from Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee on Saturday started a door-to-door survey of houses in the Joshimath town of Uttarakhand's Chamoli and pasted "unusable" posters on houses extremely impacted by land subsidence.

In the wake of the land subsidence incident in Uttarakhand's Joshimath, the Centre on Sunday constituted a team of experts from seven different organisations to study and submit its recommendations.
