An explosive half-century by star batter Virat Kohli and a century stand with Hardik Pandya helped India defeat Pakistan by four wickets in their Group 2 clash.
In a video posted by International Cricket Council (ICC), Kohli talked about the challenges and excitement of playing in such high-pressure games and thrusting the importance of believing in one's capabilities.
The game could also be touted as the battle between India's batting strong side pitted against the fierce and formidable bowling attack of Pakistan, since the Pakistani bowlers made the difference when the two teams took on each other in the last edition of the T20 World Cup in 2021.
"My focus is on World Cup. Whatever BCCI decides we will go by that," said the Indian captain while addressing a press conference ahead of the high-voltage clash against Pakistan.
He also stated the Pakistani team got the better of India in the 2021 T20 World Cup because they played better and the Men in Blue defeated the side in the 2022 Asia Cup while the Pakistani side pipped his team in the second match of the same event.
"The Honourable Linda Dessau AC, the Governor of Victoria (@VicGovernor) and other dignitaries met the Indian Cricket Team today ahead of the #T20WorldCup," the BCCI tweeted.
Rohit took on the fast throw-downs from both right and left-handed throwers trying to replicate Pakistan's bowling line-up which boasts quick bowlers like Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah.
Though fans are hyped up for this match and are waiting for this anxiously, rain gods could play spoilsport in fans' enjoyment of what will be the campaign opener for these two Asian giants
