Seven school children were killed and four severely injured after the auto-rickshaw they were in collided with a truck in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district, officials said.
"Three workers of Hero Motors Company were killed, and one other died during medical treatment after they were hit by a bus from the Noida Depot under Badalpur Police Station area. The bus has been seized and a search operation is underway to nab the accused bus driver, police said.
Police and rescue officials reached the site after they were informed about the incident. The police shifted the injured and the bodies to the hospital.
As many as three people died as several more were left injured in a road accident where after two cars collided in Sultanpur, the police informed on Sunday.
The accident took place in Amdalavalasa of Srikakulam district on Saturday evening when a lorry moving from Vijayanagaram to Kasi town rushed towards the workers walking on the road.
According to the police, Gayathri Kumar, 47 was driving her 16-year-old daughter Samatha Kumar to school when a speeding truck overturned near a cross and crushed their car on the Bannerghatta road.
The family and relatives of Maharaja of Bundelkhand were seriously injured in a road accident while travelling from Jaipur to Panna Riyasat, informed officials on Tuesday.
According to the official, the vehicle carrying at least 30 labourers from Chhattisgarh to Hyderabad overturned on Virur-Dhanora road in Chandrapur district at around 5 am on Saturday.
