The Delhi High Court has quashed an FIR lodged by a French diplomat in connection with a road accident after noting the fact that a compromise with the accused has taken place and the complainant has received an amount spent on the repair of the car.
One person was killed and four others injured after two cars collided with each other on Salim Garh Road, near Jheel Cut, in the Kotwali Police Station area here on Monday night, said Delhi Police.
A woman and her 4-year-old daughter were killed and three were injured after a vehicle hit them while they were sleeping outside their shanties in the national capital's Civil Lines area on Friday, police said.
According to the police, the deceased felt sick near the Alipur area and stuck her head out of the bus window to vomit when an oncoming vehicle crushed her head from the driver's side.
Police said that the offending truck crossed the central divider of GT Karnal road and rammed into truck carrying Kanwar yatris who were going to Haridwar.
"PCR call was received at 10:30 am, regarding a fatal accident near Khajuri Flyover. Police reached the spot. The injured in the incident were Vikram (32), two children aged 2 years and another aged 10 months, and one deceased Deepa (30)," an official statement said.
Delhi's Saket Court has recently dismissed a petition seeking claim for death in a road accident after noting that the bus implicated in the case was not involved in the accident. The bus owner (school) faced the proceedings as the petitioner had implicated the bus in her petition.
In a major move to improve road safety in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will now personally oversee the government's road-safety initiatives, said a press release on Tuesday.
Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal demanded a probe against the Kanjhawala case deceased woman Anjali's friend, who allegedly ran away from the incident site and did not anyone about the accident.
The Chief Minister said that the compensation of Rs 10 lakhs will be given to the family of the deceased woman and assured that the woman will get justice.
