Amid the flooding in many districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, the Indian Army conducted multiple rescue operations on Sunday across several flood-hit areas in Puducherry, including Krishna Nagar, Kuber Nagar, and Jiva Nagar, following severe flooding caused by Cyclone Fengal.
After Cyclone Fengal crossed north Tamil Nadu coasts and made landfall in Puducherry on November 30 late at night, many districts in the state are witnessing incessant rainfall. The residential areas in Cuddalore district were flooded and the disaster teams are rescuing people on boats.
Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy on Sunday said that Puducherry received 50 centimetres of rainfall that resulted in flooding. He informed that rescue teams are working to evacuate those stranded.
