The panel approved the nomination by a vote of 13-8 on Wednesday, with Republican Senators Todd Young and Bill Hagerty joining all of the committee's Democrats in voting in favor of Garcetti.
In USA Today, Haley wrote an opinion piece where she said, "We must be honest: Both Democrats and Republicans are responsible for America's spending crisis. They have both supported multitrillion-dollar deficits that have brought us to a USD 31.6 trillion national debt and counting."
Taking to Twitter, Grassley said, "President Joe Biden's nomination Eric Garcetti to be ambassador to India is before foreign relations come this week I conducted a thorough investigation of the allegations against Garcetti irrespective of partisan politics."
"A weak America pays the bad guys: Hundreds of millions to Pakistan, Iraq, and Zimbabwe last year alone. A strong America won't be the world's ATM," Haley tweeted on Tuesday.
