The BJP has jumped into the mounting controversy, raising strong objections against remarks made by Rahul Gandhi, labelling them as "anti-India" and "insulting" to the nation. ABJP leader said that it was Gandhi's nature to tarnish India's image abroad.
His remarks follow Gandhi's statement on Thursday, in which he said that "cowardice" was at the heart of the ideology of the RSS and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Chandrashekhar said that the instructions to issue show-cause notices to former MP Gowda and Tumkur MLA Ranganath were given by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President DK Shivakumar. He further stated that action will be taken against the two leaders over their remarks.
