The Delhi Government on Saturday approved a groundbreaking initiative, Mahila Samridhi Yojna, a Rs 5,100 crore yearly scheme aimed at empowering women in Delhi.
After the Delhi government approved 'Mahila Samridhi Yojana' to provide Rs 2500 to women on the occasion of International Women's Day, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday said that the committee has been formed and registration for the scheme will begin soon.
Union Minister and BJP National President JP Nadda said, "Today, I am happy, and I congratulate CM Rekha Gupta and others on allocating Rs 5100 crore to implement the Mahila Samriddhi Yojan in Delhi."
The walkathon started at around 7:00 AM and ended at around 9:00 AM. It brought together around 400 participants from various backgrounds to walk in support of equal opportunities, rights, and recognition for women.
Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi MLA Gopal Rai criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday for not fulfilling the promises made before the Assembly elections, urging the Delhi government to implement the financial aid scheme of providing Rs 2,500 per month to women in Delhi
People gathered at CM Gupta's residence and extended their wishes by giving small plants and bouquets. She also attended a program on International Women's Day 2025 at Fortis Hospital Delhi.
Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa met Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena to discuss key environmental issues, including pollution, waste management, and the condition of the Yamuna river on Friday.
Gupta earlier said that the budget session will begin on March 24 and the budget will be tabled by the newly formed government between March 24 and 26, in which the government will strive to take suggestions from all sections of society.
Addressing the gathering during a program, Women Power for Viksit Bharat 2047, Gupta said that symbolism doesn't work since women are representatives who protect the nation.
The Delhi cabinet is likely to meet on March 8 regarding the proposed Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, which would provide financial assistance worth Rs 2,500 to women residing in the national capital, sources said on Friday.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday said that the government will expand the network of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) Kendras across the city as per the applicable regulations.
