Balochistan Information Minister Jan Achakzai on Friday highlighted that Pakistan will deport all illegal Afghan refugees by January 2024, according to Khaama Press.
The mass return of hundreds of thousands of Afghan refugees from Pakistan, is poised to exacerbate Afghanistan's already dire humanitarian crisis, according to the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, Khaama Press reported.
Among the 5000 Myanmar refugees who are now taking shelter in six refugee camps in Zokhawthar area in Mizoram's Champhai district, which is located along the Indo-Myanmar border, there are many women and children who are living in makeshift tents in the camps.
Following the airstrike by the Myanmar army, as many as 5000 Myanmar nationals crossed over the international border and entered the Zokhawthar area to take shelter and many of them have now returned to their country.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has said that it needs USD 10 million to provide essential healthcare services to 7,00,000 migrants and refugees who have entered Afghanistan from Pakistan, Khaama Press reported.
Amid the clashes between the ruling military and anti-junta protesters in Myanmar, scores of refugees, who crossed over into India fleeing the violence, have found temporary refuge in the Zokhawthar area of Mizoram's Champhai district.
Nigar, one of the expelled women from Pakistan who has been relocated to a temporary camp in northern Kabul, said that it has been six days since she has come back to Afghanistan with her family.

Esther Lalpekmawii, a Myanmar national and mother to a 9-month-old, is currently taking shelter in the Zokhawthar area of Mizoram's Champhai district. She remains fearful due to the recent airstrikes by the Myanmar army in a neighbouring village along the Indo-Myanmar border.
Refugees who have returned and taken up temporary housing in the Torkham Crossing region have urged that the present administration expedite the registration and assistance distribution processes so that they can return to their homes as soon as possible, according to TOLOnews.
