Continuing its crackdown against the cross-border smuggling attempts, vigilant BSF troops on Tuesday recovered a Pakistani drone and two heroin consignments in two separate operations from the border areas of Amritsar and Gurdaspur districts.
In a major crackdown on cross-border narco-trafficking, Border Security Force (BSF) troops, in coordination with Punjab Police, recovered four Pakistani drones and significant quantities of suspected heroin from border areas of Amritsar and Tarn Taran districts, said officials on Monday.
Border Security Force (BSF) troops recovered three Pakistani drones along with 157 kilograms of heroin in multiple operations and apprehended one Indian narco-smuggler, an official said.
Punjab Police on Tuesday arrested 71 drug smugglers and recovered 1.8 kg heroin, 4.9 kg opium, 13362 intoxicant capsules/tablets and Rs 9000 drug money from their possession.
In the last 24 hours, Manipur has witnessed a significant boost in security operations, with forces conducting search and area domination exercises in vulnerable hill and valley districts.
In a post on X, the Director General of Punjab police, Gaurav Yadav, wrote, "In a major blow to drug trafficking networks, Amritsar Rural Police apprehends Tamandeep Singh, a resident of village Kakkar, and recovers 2 Kg Heroin and 900 gm of ICE (Crystal Meth). An FIR under the NDPS Act is r
