“The Unit 9 team of the Mumbai Crime Branch has busted a drugs syndicate and recovered drugs worth more than Rs 2 crore; one drug supplier was arrested from Sewri, and another accused is absconding,” police said.

“During patrolling, police personnel of Dholakhal Border Outpost on Saturday observed that some people were carrying suspicious items. When the police personnel reached the spot, the people fled from the area, leaving behind three cages containing six birds,” Cachar ASP Subrata Sen said.

During the raids, sleuths recovered over 56 kgs of drugs worth Rs 40 crores. "The cost of the seized drugs recovered from the possession of the arrest accused persons is estimated to be Rs 40 crore in the international market," the sleuths of the special cell said.
A substantial cache of arms and ammunition including explosive materials, detonators, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), fuses, and a substantial amount of cash, was recovered from the apprehended terrorists.
"A huge cache of arms and ammunition including 5 AK Rifles, 7 Pistols, 4 Hand Grenades and other incriminating material has been recovered," they added.
