Union Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways, General (retd) VK Singh, reached the Silkyara tunnel site on Friday to take stock of the ongoing efforts to rescue 41 trapped workers.
CM Dhami spoke to Gabbar Singh Negi and Saba Ahmed, among the workers trapped in the tunnel under construction in Silkyara, Uttarkashi, to inquire about their well-being and also informed them about the rescue operation going on at a fast pace to get them out safely.

Union Minister General VK Singh (Retd) on Thursday reached the Silkyara tunnel site, where the rescue operation is underway to bring out the trapped workers.
While speaking to the reporters here, he said that the efforts are being made to move 6 metres ahead of the 45-metre mark that has already been reached.
Upon receiving information, firefighters, aided by J-K Police and civilians, reached the spot to douse off the fire. Properties worth lakhs of rupees were damaged in the incident.
