A Dalit woman who was allegedly raped and set on fire in Rajasthan's Barmer district on Thursday, succumbed to burn injuries at Jaipur's Mahatma Gandhi Hospital on Saturday, police said.
"The accused identified as Palash Chandel, who was absconding for around two months, was arrested on April 6 and later released on bail," Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anil Kumar Soni said.
According to the police, the officials were able to apprehend the accused by identifying him from the yellow shirt he was wearing while he allegedly committed the crime.
According to details, a six-year-old girl was missing from Karachi's Surjani area on Tuesday. Her body was found in the manhole near her house a day later.
