Vistara and Akasa Air received security threats on twelve flights -- six for each airline -- operating on Sunday, prompting the airlines to activate their emergency protocols.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) is in talks with the other concerned ministries to make required amendments in the existing laws to make them more stringent to deal with the cases of hoax bomb threats for flights, MoCA sources said.

In response to the recent spate of hoax bomb threats targeting various flights, including Indian airlines, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said that necessary actions were being taken and ruled out any larger conspiracy behind these events.
He said, "India's aviation industry is undergoing significant changes, with a focus on technologies like air traffic management and sustainability. Investments are being made to construct new airports and expand existing ones, while major airports have become global mega hubs."
