Security has been heightened at the Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch highway after the terrorist attack on two military vehicles in the Thanamandi area in the Rajouri sector occurred on Thursday, leading to the killing of three Army personnel.
Three Army personnel lost their lives while three others were injured in a terrorist attack on two military vehicles in the Thanamandi area in the Rajouri sector in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, an official said.
"In an unfortunate incident, Agniveer Amritpal Singh died while on sentry duty in Rajouri Sector, due to a self inflicted gun shot injury," the White Knight Corps said in a post on 'X'.

Notably, Bhutto-Zardari's visit comes after the Poonch attack. On April 20, an Army vehicle passing Bhimber Gali and Poonch in the Rajouri sector was fired upon by unidentified terrorists, through grenades, which lead to the death of five soldiers.

CDS General Anil Chauhan visited the forward posts in the Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, laid a wreath at Naman Sthal and exhorted the soldiers to bring highest level of professionalism in their work.
