Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday attended the 57th Raising Day of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the Kharavela Regional Training Centre, Mundali in Cuttack, Odisha.
"For the first time in the CRPF's eighty-six-year history, the CRPF's Raising Day parade is being celebrated in Assam, in the Northeast. This is a matter of pride for all of us, for the entire Northeast," he said.
Since its raising on 15 February 1980, the Project has played a pivotal role in transforming remote and inaccessible terrains into vital corridors of connectivity, contributing significantly to national security and socio-economic development.
Amit Shah said that the Indian Coast Guard's quiet vigilance at sea, steadfast courage, and unyielding commitment to duty keep Bharat's maritime frontiers safe every day.
The Defence Minister in the message noted the efforts by the Coast Guard in "safeguarding our coasts, thwarting illicit activities, responding to natural disasters", underscoring their contribution to "national security and maritime sustainability."

In a greeting post on X, the PM lauded the personnel for their "professionalism and resolve" and for always being the frontrunners in times of calamity. He underscored their efforts to "protect lives, provide relief and restore hope."
