Following the announcement of deaths of Raeisi and his team, the Iranian cabinet held an emergency session headed by Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, Press TV reported.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi and foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, along with other officials who were on board the helicopter, have died in the northwest of Iran, reported Iran-based Press TV.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi died on Monday in the helicopter crash that occurred on Sunday evening, Al Jazeera reported, citing Mehr News Agency, a semi-official news agency of the Iranian government.
