Industries minister Harshvardhan Chauhan, on Thursday said that the state has incurred losses exceeding Rs 12,000 crore primarily attributed to floods and heavy rains, adding that the industrial sector alone has suffered an estimated loss of over Rs 300 crore.
Addressing a press conference after the cabinet sub-committee meeting held at Vidhansouda on Wednesday, Byre Gowda said that the fifth cabinet sub-committee has also recommended to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to declare drought in these taluks.
The Himachal LoP said that the AICC chief is visiting the state almost a month after the heavy rains and floods wreaked havoc there. He further claimed that she is "doing a photoshoot" in the flood and rain-hit areas just to take political benefit out of it.
"This is the toughest terrain in district Rajouri. The rains, forests, and fog added to operational difficulties as well but the jawans and officers who were working on the ground handled the operation very professionally," DIG Mughal said while speaking to ANI.
