The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert on Sunday, predicting heavy rainfall in Odisha over the next three days due to a trough extending from South Uttar Pradesh to the Bay of Bengal.
Uttarakhand DGP Abhinav Kumar has urged pilgrims and devotees to be cautious and to start their journey only after breaks. He emphasized the importance of staying in safe places and following local authorities' instructions.

In wake of the rainfall warning issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre in Pune district on July 9, Collector Dr Suhas Diwase has announced that all schools up to class 12 will remain closed on Tuesday, July 9 to avoid any untoward incidents and emergencies affecting schools.
