National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday submitted the chargesheet in the case against Popular Front of India (PFI) following the nationwide raid against its cadres and members. The chargesheet was submitted in the Special NIA Court at Kochi.
According to a statement from the department, the team on late Tuesday night had seized articles worth at least around Rs 30 lakh that were allegedly meant for distribution ahead of the Assembly elections.
The raids were carried out on Tuesday at 14 locations in six districts of Jammu and Kashmir, including Srinagar, Baramulla, Pulwama, Anantnag, Budgam and Kathua; and one location in Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab, added the agency.
The anti-terror agency sleuths carried out these searches on Tuesday at the premises of the eight accused. The eight accused and suspects whose premises were searched are active members of the Naxal support network, said the NIA.
As many as nine persons were arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for their alleged involvement in accumulating funds for terror activities on the pretext of admission of J&K students in various professional courses in Pakistan based institutions, stated an official release.
During the operation, the directorate team, accompanied by BOL News representatives, compiled a list of inventory items, including DSNGs, studio equipment, cameras, camera control units, monitors, and other imported equipment in the building, Tribune reported.
